Format for Event!

Any suggestion in regards to logistics would be greatly appreciated. We have a little ways to go to really figure this out completely, but the basic concept remains the same - people helping people learn stuff and make progress on their projects.

Any other ideas for making it even better?

Event Format!

5:00 Volunteers arrive and help with setup

5:30 Make new friends, drink our beer (wine and soda too) and eat our snacks

The volunteers at the registration table will provide participants an overview at check-in of what is going on and where people are. Each attendee gets a print out of the Expert Sessions being offered. Expertise requested will be placed on note cards and stuck to a cork board. A master schedule will be kept at the Master Scheduling Desk. People can use this time to sign up. Experts will be stationed in different areas according to a pre-determined map which will also be held at the Master Scheduling Desk.

6:00 Introductions and overview

Recognize those offering their expertise to community, explain how it works once more to make sure there are no more questions or last minute changes to the plans

6:10 Start sharing and learning (and don't forget to bring some greenbacks for the experts)

Experts who don’t have their time booked for a given time slot can gather World Café style and have a conversation on a range of topics that could be podcast. Experts may also choose to not offer their time during a particular time slot so they may tap into the expertise of others.

Client fees will be collected and registered on the wiki.

8:00 Closing session

All fees collected will be tallied up and donated to the Creative Commons. Closing presentations will be made. Everyone will give verbal love to our sponsors and then hopefully support them outside of the event. :)
